Our Customers Brief

Our client approached our team with a vision to convert an unused loft space into a functional and aesthetically pleasing area. The project needed to consist of certain elements including an en suite, a purposeful area for the boiler and to provide as much natural light as possible.

The design concepts

The design focused on maximising natural light and ventilation, making use of the VELUX windows strategically placed to illuminate the space. The windows open out to create a Juliet balcony providing the illusion of the outdoors inside. The en suite and boiler room were strategically positioned for efficiency and convenience while the new staircase mirrored the design of the original one to maintain architectural harmony.

Installing this loft conversion provides our customer with not only an extra bedroom but an en suite and a boiler room as well.

Project Build and Materials

EVERY DETAIL COUNTS

The first step taken was to erect the scaffolding to provide independent access to the loft, then the steel beams and supporting floor beams were installed to the area. Next floor joists and floorboards were installed. The careful installation of the Velux windows to create the Juliet balcony followed alongside the lighting and plumbing first fixes. The internal partitions were built. The loft room was then fully insulated. We then created a new access staircase between the loft conversion and the first floor. We then plasterboard throughout and finally finished with a plaster skim.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

The loft conversion resulted in a stunning transformation, offering our client an exquisite and functional space. The Velux Juliet balcony provides a charming addition. The mirrored staircase enhances the flow between the floors, achieving a harmonious integration of the new elements with the existing structure. The interior boasts a blend of off white and green hues showcasing our client’s personality. The design carried through to the en suite creating contemporary luxury, while the bespoke eaves wardrobes meticulously crafted, adorn the space with functionality and style. Oak doors add a touch of natural warmth, completing this sophisticated retreat.
