BESPOKE SUMMER HOUSE – EWSHOT, HAMPSHIRE
OUR CUSTOMER BRIEF
Our customer in Ewshot, Hampshire, envisioned a multifunctional and elegant summer house designed to blend beautifully with their garden and home.
The goal was to create a relaxing retreat that featured contemporary design and a strong connection to their outdoor environment.
Project Build and Materials
The customer’s request included three main components:
Design: Craft a bespoke summer house with bifold doors that offers a modern and functional space for relaxation and entertainment.
Manufacture: Construct the summer house using high quality materials designed to endure outdoor conditions, including custom built bifold doors and a durable timber frame.
Construction: Build a solid foundation and structure with walls and a roof made from premium materials, ensuring effective insulation and weather resistance.
the design
The design process for the summer house began with in-depth consultations to fully understand the customer’s vision, followed by a thorough site analysis to determine the optimal placement and design elements.
During this phase, we developed detailed design proposals and 3D renderings to visualise the layout and features, ensuring that the interior was designed to maximise both comfort and space. Customisations involved precisely fitting the bifold doors to ensure a seamless integration and choosing finishes that perfectly aligned with the customer’s preferences. The process wrapped up by adjusting the design to incorporate customer feedback and finalising detailed construction specifications to ensure precise execution.
the manufacture
Once the CAD drawings were approved by the customer, our team started the construction of the summer house. Our talented carpenters meticulously crafted each component, ensuring precise attention to detail throughout the process. This included the creation of high-quality timber structures and the bespoke bifold doors, all built to meet the highest standards of durability and design.
Construction
The construction process began with thorough site preparation, including groundwork and utility installation to establish a solid foundation. The timber framework was assembled to precise specifications using green oak posts for a robust and traditional feel. The bespoke bifold doors were installed with meticulous attention to detail.
The walls and roof were constructed from high quality materials, featuring proper insulation and weather resistance. Red tiles were chosen to match the existing ones on the main house. Two fixed door units were installed, and staddle stones were used exclusively on the front and back left sides to provide both structural support and a traditional look.
For the exterior, we applied treated softwood cladding to ensure durability and provide a natural finish that blends with the surroundings. Inside, the ceiling was insulated and clad with rough-sawn oak, offering a rustic charm before being plaster boarded and tastefully decorated to create a polished, comfortable interior. To create a warm atmosphere, we installed multiple spotlights, ensuring even and effective lighting throughout the interior.
Initially, the plans included Velux roof windows. However, during construction, the customer chose to exclude them from the final design.
We concluded the project with thorough quality checks and a final walk through with the customer to ensure complete satisfaction and address any final adjustments.
In conclusion, the construction of the bespoke summer house in Ewshot, was a successful and seamless process, from initial site preparation to final inspection. By carefully following the design specifications, incorporating high quality materials, and paying meticulous attention to detail, we delivered a modern and functional retreat that integrates with the customer’s beautiful garden.
