Bespoke kitchen island – Aldershot, Hampshire

At Timber Technology we design and craft bespoke joinery that enhances homes while blending seamlessly with existing interiors. A recent project in Aldershot involved creating a custom kitchen island to perfectly match our customer’s traditional shaker-style kitchen.

The Brief

Our customer requested a new kitchen island that would:

Match the existing shaker style cabinetry in colour and style

Provide additional storage and workspace

Include a built in wine rack for both functionality and character

Integrate so seamlessly it felt like part of the original kitchen

Design & Craftsmanship

Every element of the island was carefully considered:

Doors: Traditional shaker, colour matched to the existing cabinetry

Internal Finish: Gold Harbour Oak board for durability and a premium feel

Worktop: Silestone Blanco Maple with chamfered and polished edges, combining elegance with practicality

Feature: A bespoke wine rack, handcrafted to hold bottles neatly and add a unique, personal touch to the island

The island was constructed in our Church Crookham workshop over two days, allowing us to ensure the highest quality finish before delivery.

Installation

Our skilled team then installed the island in a single day, ensuring minimal disruption to the customer’s home. By building the unit in our workshop beforehand, we delivered a precise, ready-to-fit solution.

The Result

The finished island blended perfectly into the existing kitchen. The colour-matched shaker doors and Silestone worktop created a consistent, high quality look, while the wine rack added both practicality and charm. The customer was delighted with their new feature piece — a kitchen island that looked as though it had always been part of their home.
