Bespoke Garden Studio – Aldershot, Surrey

OUR CUSTOMER BRIEF

Our brief was to create a bespoke garden studio for our client in Aldershot, Surrey.

The aim was to create a versatile and inspiring space that promoted productivity, fitness and well being. The garden studio was designed to have plenty of space to accommodate both, an office and a gym. Our customer wanted as much natural light intake as possible and electrics installed to support the office and gym equipment.

The overall design of the garden studio needed to be aesthically pleasing, blending seamlessly with the existing garden landscape.

Timber Technology Limited undertook several different stages to build this breath taking bespoke garden studio with bi-folding doors, our customer requested a full project management service.

Firstly, the initial planning commenced, determining the size of the garden studio and layout. Once the plans were approved by our customer, we were able to start on the site preparation. This included clearing of the desiginated area and excavation of the ground to create a level foundation and drainage for the garden studio.

We handcrafted the main structure of the garden studio including the walls, roof and floor. We used treated timber to provide strength and stability and added sufficient instulation to ensure energy efficiency.

We prepared and framed the opening for the doors and applied weatherproof cladding to the exterior walls of the garden studio.

We installed bi–folding doors and windows either side of the garden studio to maximise the intake of natural light.

For the interior, the walls were fabricated with solid timber and plaster boarded then plastered and painted. Electrical outlets were installed and skirting boards added to give a finished look to the laminate flooring.

Our customer choose to paint one wall of the office pink and leave the rest white. They also opted for an all white finish in the gym.

We designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke desk for the office area where two people will be able to work side by side comfortably.

Project Build and Materials

The main structure of the garden studio was made from solid timber and the external cladding was made from softwood cladding.

The structure forms together as a ‘L shape’. We used rubber EDPM for the roof.

The walls were fabricated with solid timber from the Egger Decorative Collection.

The internal design consists of new laminated flooring throughout and rubber matting was installed within the gym area.
