OUR CUSTOMER BRIEF

Our client and their young family approached us with a unique challenge: to create a bespoke fitted study that seamlessly integrated a sleeping area, a functional workspace and a stylish design aesthetic. The primary goal was to optimise the space available whilst maintaining a modern and sophisticated look. Our client wanted a home office that was versatile but didn’t want to lose their guest room.

Project Build and Materials

Our design team proposed a solution that centred around an integrated bookcase featuring a fold down bed and a bespoke desk with the ability to extend. The dual purpose bookcase would serve as a focal point, providing both storage and entertainment in the day and transforming into a comfortable bed in the evening. The extendable desk, designed as a standalone piece would offer a flexible workspace that could adapt to the client’s various activities.

Whilst designing this marvellous fitted study our design team went back and forth with our client on several occasions chopping and changing different elements of the design until it was perfect. What started as a traditional styled design turned into a modern sophisticated masterpiece.

Once the drawings were signed off, production began. This bespoke study was meticulously crafted in our very own workshop. Ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the fold down bed mechanism, rigorous testing was conducted to guarantee safety and durability, providing the client with piece of mind.

The fold down bed featured a push and click mechanism, no handles were installed. This added to the sleek aesthetics. A practical strip light was added above the headrest. The bookcase consisted of adjustable shelves and an Integrated TV. The bookcase was finished in the colour Railings.

The extendable L shaped desk features four deep glass sided drawers, a service mounted chrome plated power cable and hidden shelving to hold items such as a printer. The desks adjustable feature is controlled by buttons situated on the inner left hand side. Pressing the control panel activates the desk to either extend or retract to the height required. The desk was also finished in farrow and ball’s signature colour: Railings.

The client expressed immense satisfaction with the final result. The study not only met but exceeded their expectations, providing a functional and versatile room.
